Volunteers
Anyone who has a passion to support women choosing life can help! Special Delivery is run solely from donated funds, materials, time, and energy. We have volunteer opportunities that range from one-on-one mentoring to house/yard projects.
Advocate- An Advocate is another word for mentor. When a pregnant woman first comes to the Special Delivery support group or residential program, she is assigned an Advocate. The Advocate is a woman who offers friendship and encouragement as well as practical, emotional, and spiritual support for the duration of the young woman’s pregnancy. The Advocate comes to the support groups on Monday nights as well as meets with the young woman throughout the week. The Advocate is re-assigned once the woman’s baby is 2-4 weeks old.
Alternate House Manager- The Alternate House Manager fills in for the House Manager when she is off.
Childcare- We are always looking for childcare workers to come on Monday nights during our support groups for single mothers. We also have special events which require childcare.
Teaching A Class/Life-skill- We rely on the volunteers of Special Delivery to help mentor and train up the women who come to us. We are looking for someone who has a passion to educate, empower, and encourage these women for a better future. We would love to utilize your interests, hobbies, and expertise for the betterment of these women’s lives! Some examples of classes/life-skills we welcome are: financial/money management, health/fitness, nutrition, spiritual application, scrapbooking, arts and crafts, and bible studies.
Professional Services- We are looking for professionals who will help to encourage, educate, and empower the women of Special Delivery. Whether it is a one-time speaking engagement at our support group, a weekly class, a monthly meeting, or at your convenience, we would love to utilize your expertise for the betterment of these women’s lives! Some examples of professional services we welcome are: financial/money management, attorneys, health/fitness, nutrition, prenatal/postnatal care, infant/child care, counseling/emotional healing, cosmetology/spa services, and much more.
